The New Normal: Telehealth

Among the many changes wrought by the pandemic, virtual access to quality healthcare has become the new normal. And, for the clients I serve, it has increasingly become the preferred normal! As a result, my practice fully transitioned to virtual sessions in July, 2025.

Making time for yourself is so much easier when your commute is (at most) to the next room!

Let’s connect!

Since the week of March 16, 2020, I’ve been meeting with clients virtually. The transition was far easier than I expected it to be, and my clients report that having access to virtual therapeutic counseling is both a great comfort and a great option to stay connected and focused on their well-being.

If you’ve never experienced virtual counseling, I encourage you to give it a try. It’s safe, private, and effective.

FAQs

Rather than meeting in person, we meet live via a secure, HIPAA-compliant, video conferencing service. You don’t need to download any software or set up an account; you merely click the link I email to you to join our session virtually using your browser (Google Chrome is recommended for best quality) on a computer or a device with a camera and a microphone.

Many people enjoy the convenience virtual counseling offers such as saving time commuting to appointments, meeting from the comfort and privacy of their own homes, and the ease of having therapy fit their schedules rather than the other way around.

The biggest drawback was my own attitude about virtual counseling. I couldn’t imagine that it could be as good as in-person counseling, so I understand why you might be thinking the same thing. Well, I was wrong! I have found virtual sessions to be just as effective as in-person sessions to build the trust and traction required to do good work together. And my clients agree!

I am currently licensed/approved to provide services in IL. If you reside in another state and are interested in working with me, please contact me. I’m happy to investigate whether it’s possible to get approved to provide virtual services where you live and, if not, to provide a referral in your area.
Use my contact form or call me directly at 224.659.2654 to schedule your virtual session. Appointments are available for 30, 60, and 90-minute sessions. I offer individual, couples, family, and Discernment Counseling virtually. Fees are discussed prior to your first session.

Virtual clients receive secure invoices that can be paid by Zelle, credit, debit, or HSA card. Payment in full is expected upon receipt of the invoice.
